About the Gilmer County Library
The Gilmer County Public Library is part of the Sequoyah Regional Library System which includes Gilmer, Pickens, and Cherokee Counties. The new 20,000 square foot facility that opened in November, 2007, boasts over 20,000 volumes for children, teens, and adults including a Spanish Language Center, a Genealogical Research Collection, a Parenting Center, and a Business and Career Center. We also offer more than 30 public Internet workstations and Wi-Fi access for those with their own computers. In addition we provide the public with a state-of-the-art Reference Department including hundreds of print and electronic resources accessible both from within the library and from home. There are meeting room facilities that are open to the public by appointment. For patron convenience The Friends of the Gilmer County Library run The Bookshelf right inside the building offering gently used books at deeply discounted prices. All Bookshelf proceeds go to benefit the library.
